Coro di Ittireddu

Ittireddu

The Coro di Ittireddu, was founded in 1991 on the initiative of a group of friends passionate about Sardinian folk music and under the direction of M° Mario Coloru. Subsequently, several masters took turns in conducting, such as M.G. Becciu, G.Fadda, S. Bossi and the current director C. Cau.

In more than thirty years of activity, the choir has proposed a repertoire based on the traditional songs of the island, and on new compositions, works of its directors, inspired by texts of Ittireddu’s authors. This repertoire has been proposed in frequent performances both in the island territory and in the peninsula and abroad, where the Coro di Ittireddu has often been appreciated for the originality of the songs sung.

Frequent invitations to participate in radio and television broadcasts at various regional stations (Sardegna Canta, Buonasera Sardegna), as well as participation in the “Cavalcata Sarda” and awards received, in 2000 and 2012 at the Biennial “Città di Ozieri”.

To his credit also several recordings: the album “Monte Ruiu”, the CD “Sabore de Antigu”, as well as the latest single “Ninna-nanna” recorded on the proposal of the ISTENTALES and included in their latest production.

Since 2011, it has been offering the annual choral review “NOTAS DE ARMONIA,” now in its 10th edition, which attracts the participation of several choirs from Sardinia.
