Utah
The Southern Utah Heritage Choir, from St. George, Utah, was formed in 1994 to celebrate the traditions and rich heritage of Southern Utah and the nation. In its 25th year, the Choir maintains a rigorous performing schedule, presenting annual Christmas concerts, patriotic concerts, spring and fall concerts, heritage concerts and many sacred musical events.
In addition to its regular performance schedule, the Choir has toured widely, performing concerts in the Czech Republic, Armenia, Mexico, England, Scotland, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, the Midwestern States, China, Ireland, Poland, Austria, and Hungary. The Choir has performed in St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna, the Matthias Church in Budapest, Christchurch Cathedral in Dublin, the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C., the Salt Lake Tabernacle on Temple Square, and the Assembly Hall on Temple Square. Members of the Choir are volunteers who pay their own choir expense and give freely of their time for rehearsals and performances. The Choir performs a comprehensive repertoire of choral music to accomplish its mission – that of “bringing people closer to Christ through beautiful music.”
